Start a gatheringThe costumes took weeks. Where to eat before the party, or where to go once it winds down, took no time at all, because nobody decided. On Halloween the bars and restaurants fill with capes and face paint, and when the 31st lands on a weekend the crowds are bigger still. A group that turns up without a plan ends up eating standing up, or not at all.
Before the party, or after it
Pick dinner for a meal before the party, drinks for a round while the costumes are still fresh, or a late bite for after midnight. Offer the 31st and perhaps the weekend nearest to it, choose the hour and the area, and send one link. Each friend says which days don’t work for them, and MiBA picks from the days that are left.
Loud, or easy to talk in
Some friends want music, a crowd and a dance floor; others want somewhere easy to talk in before the noise starts. Each friend answers on their own, saying what they feel like eating, the vibe they’re after and whether it’s beer, cocktails or wine. MiBA weighs it all, so the pick suits the whole group and not only the loudest costume.
Budgets kept under the mask
Each friend says what they’d like to spend, and places over the group’s budget are left out. A place someone ruled out is never suggested. Budgets and no’s stay private, so the friend who spent everything on the costume doesn’t have to say so. Dietary needs are saved on each friend’s account, and places that show they cater to them come first.
Vote, book, haunt
MiBA ranks the places that suit the whole group, you put up to five on a shortlist, and everyone votes. You get a link or a phone number to book, and on Halloween it pays to book early. Everyone hears where and when, so nobody spends the night texting “where are you?” from inside a mask.
Starting a gathering is free. Everyone signs in to answer and vote, and MiBA remembers their name and dietary needs for next time.
