Brunch on your day off
A free weekday is rare. When a public holiday lands in the middle of the week, everyone has the same idea at once: sleep in, then a long brunch with the people you never see on a Tuesday. The good places fill up early, and the plan usually starts too late.
Settle it early
Brunch places on a public holiday book up fast, so start the gathering as soon as the day off is announced. Pick brunch, the hour and the area, then send one link. Everyone answers in their own time, and you can close it and decide once enough people are in.
A weekday changes who is free
A day off isn’t a day off for everyone. Some friends work shifts, some have the kids at home, and some only get half the day. Offer the holiday and a couple of other days, and each friend says which dates don’t work for them. Nobody has to explain why. Holidays differ too: a friend from another country may be working while you are off.
What everyone feels like
Each friend says what they feel like eating, the vibe and what they’d like to spend. A place someone ruled out is never suggested, places over the group’s budget are left out, and places that show they cater to everyone’s dietary needs come first. Dietary needs are saved on each friend’s account, so nobody repeats them for every gathering.
Vote, then book it
MiBA ranks the places that suit the whole group, you put up to five on a shortlist, and everyone votes. You get a link or a phone number to book, and everyone hears where and when. On a holiday, book as soon as the vote is in. Then put the phone away and order a second coffee.
Starting a gathering is free. Everyone signs in to answer and vote, and MiBA remembers their name and dietary needs for next time.
